How do we change local TN politics?

I came across this web site today and it speaks to what I’ve thought about TN politics lately. TN had 51.8% voter turn out which of course means that 48.2% didn’t vote. I’m curious about the demographics of the ones who didn’t vote. I wonder how many didn’t vote because they just assume that TN is a very red state so they felt it was a waste of time to vote?

My understanding is that even less vote on local politics. It seems that we allow a vocal minority to run our politics and we wonder why all these bat shit crazy people have been voted into the state legislature and the Republican party now has a super majority here in TN.

Of course, I could be completely naïve and the majority of the 48.2% didn’t vote because they were disgusted by how liberal both candidates were. 😉
